The majority of medical training for health care providers is centered on illness, disease processes, and treatments for these conditions. This education and training is extremely important and has helped save many lives. Over my years of practice as a Family Practice NP, I found myself wondering why we did not receive more training on how the body naturally works to prevent illness and disease. – Jackie

Our bodies were created by God to do amazing things. However, as our discoveries and advances in healthcare have expanded, we have turned to surgical techniques and pharmacological fixes rather than maintaining our natural state of health to prevent and treat disease. This has led to a disease-centered medical model where treating illness, rather than preventing illness, has become the norm. Yet, many patients go to their healthcare provider for answers to what they are experiencing and don’t receive them. Why? Because we are looking for answers in the wrong place.

Our current medical model overlooks the importance of optimizing God’s design of the human body to provide natural healing and protection. Instead of strengthening our bodies and enabling them to provide the healing they were created to, the current medical model looks to pharmaceuticals and surgical interventions to prolong life. Having spent much of my medical career providing care under this model, I was exposed firsthand to the incongruencies and inadequacies of this type of healthcare.

Flourish Medical + Wellness was started to provide care that optimizes how a healthy body functions.
